The Bittersweet Halfway point
Things are moving at such a fast pace around here. I can't believe our staff is leaving in just 2 days. Sunday was a blast. We started off the morning with a community potluck breakfast. It was hilarious to see what some of the boys came up with the bring, but it was so neat for us all to just come together as all eat a meal together, that almost never happens here. Then we paired up boy/girl and went out sharing. I went out with a boy here Dennis, a native Californian, and we along with 4 others went over to Huntington beach to go sharing our faith. He and I got into a great conversation with a man named Mark from Austria. He was very interested in talking to us about spiritual things, but seeing that he didnt speak very good English and He for sure could not understand anything I was saying with my Texas Twang, I decided to just go ahead and whip out the four spiritual laws booklet. We went through the whole thing with him and we got all the way through and he seemed to be understanding everything the book was saying, so when we got to the prayer part he said it was the desire of his heart, but he didnt want to pray with us right there but that he would do it on his own later. So, needless to say I felt great about it and God was SO faithful to break down the language barrier and use us to speak to him anyways through the 4 spiritual laws book. It was so fun.
Then we had our Date with Jesus #2 and it was Such a good date! I went and grabbed some dinner at Ruby's this restraunt on the pier here that is so yummy. I took it out to a spot on the beach that was virtually empty which is so hard to fins here at 7 oclock at night. I watched what couldve been a little nicer of a sunset, but I loved it nevertheless. I just spent those 2 hours just listening to praise songs, reading some psalms, journaling and a whole lot of praying. With staff leaving and project being half over I have a lot that I am trying to rely on the Lord for. Taking over my group and discipling girls, and for our new project leaders and to just soak up everything that the Lord has for me for these last 5 weeks here, because I know it will be over before I know it.
Last night we had our last Action group with our leader Amber and it was wonderful. We had an affirmation time where we all just showered each other with enouragment and praises. It was fun to do that to the other girls, but a little hard to take it all in when it was my turn. Although I tried to just take what they said graciously and it made me want to be more of the things they were saying they had seen in me. I love these girls so much!
We have a womens banquet tonight that we are all getting dressed up for, but its al a surprise where we are going and what we are doing there! So many surprises here on project I just ant take it!!
